Race Recap

Andrea Kimi Antonelli converted pole position into victory at the 2026 Japanese Grand Prix, leading from the front to claim a commanding win for Mercedes at Suzuka. Oscar Piastri brought his McLaren home in second place, with Charles Leclerc completing the podium in third for Ferrari. Antonelli also set the fastest lap of the race — a 1:32.432 — to complete a dominant weekend. The race was not without incident: Oliver Bearman retired the Haas on lap 20 and Lance Stroll’s Aston Martin lasted only 30 laps before he too was forced out.
