Early Life and Karting Beginnings

Oliver Bearman was born on 8 May 2005 in Chelmsford, England, and quickly developed a passion for motorsport.
From a young age he immersed himself in karting, racing extensively in British and European championships and emerging as one of the standout drivers of his generation.
By 2019 he had already come to wider attention by winning the Winter Cup in the junior X30 class, as well as topping both the Euro Series and the International Final in the same category.
These successes underlined his natural speed and racecraft, and set the foundation for a rapid progression into single-seaters.
Even at this early stage, teams and talent scouts regarded him as a serious prospect for the higher echelons of the sport.

Step Up to Formula 4

Bearman’s transition to car racing came in 2020, when he entered the ADAC Formula 4 Championship with US Racing.
In his rookie year he scored a race win and multiple podiums, finishing seventh in the standings with 144 points and proving he could adapt quickly to more powerful machinery.
For 2021 he switched to Van Amersfoort Racing and produced an outstanding campaign in both the German (ADAC) and Italian F4 series.

Bearman’s Formula 1 race debut arrived unexpectedly at the 2024 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.
Ferrari called him up after Carlos Sainz was forced to withdraw due to appendicitis following Friday practice in Jeddah.
Despite the late notice and limited preparation, Bearman qualified eleventh, missing out on Q3 by just a few hundredths of a second.
In the race he delivered a composed and mature drive to finish seventh, scoring six points and becoming the 68th driver to score on his F1 debut, and the first British driver to do so since Paul di Resta in 2011.
He also became the fourth consecutive driver to score points on debut for Ferrari, joining Ignazio Giunti, Clay Regazzoni and Arturo Merzario in that particular piece of team history.

Race Opportunities with Haas in 2024

In July 2024 Haas announced that Bearman would join the team as a full-time race driver from the 2025 season on a multi-year deal.
The promotion confirmed his transition from promising junior to established Formula 1 racer.
Lining up for the American squad in 2025, he partnered Esteban Ocon and continued to benefit from Ferrari power and technical collaboration.
Over the 2025 campaign he scored 41 points and finished thirteenth in the drivers’ standings, a strong return for a rookie in a midfield car.
By the beginning of 2026 he had entered 27 Grands Prix, amassed 48 career points and recorded a best race finish of fourth, underlining his upward trajectory.
